Rita P. Ribeiro
Rita P. Ribeiro is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science at the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Porto (FCUP) and a researcher at the Laboratory of Artificial Intelligence and Decision Support (LIAAD) at INESC TEC. She holds a PhD from the University of Porto in the field of Machine Learning. Her main research interests include challenges in machine learning for imbalanced domains, anomaly detection, explainability, and evaluation issues in learning tasks. She has conducted applied research in areas such as environmental problems, fraud detection, and predictive maintenance.
She is the co-director of the Bachelor's degree in Artificial Intelligence and Data Science at the University of Porto and the deputy director of the Master's programme in Data Science at FCUP. Currently, she serves as Program Co-Chair of the Research Track at the ECML PKDD 2025 conference. She regularly participates in program committees of international conferences, collaborates as an editor and reviewer for several scientific journals, and has contributed to the organisation of multiple scientific events.
