Luís Manuel Maia
Luís Maia is a software engineer and researcher passionate about Data Science and Machine Learning. He began his academic journey pursuing a Nursing degree at the Escola Superior de Enfermagem do Porto (ESEP) before transferring to the Instituto Superior de Engenharia do Porto (ISEP), where he completed his degree in Software Engineering. During his time as an intern at ISEP, he had the opportunity to explore the practical application of Machine Learning (ML) models for 3D indoor mapping, an experience that sparked his interest in the field of Data Science. Over three years, he collaborated with a product team at DevScope to streamline the integration process of ML models. Since 2021, he has held the role of Team Manager for the Artificial Intelligence team. Currently, Luís serves as the Head of Artificial Intelligence at DevScope, where he leads innovative projects and initiatives in the field. With solid experience in engineering and machine learning, Luís has been assisting classes on MLOps and conducting workshops in the same field, sharing his expertise with both students and professionals.
